What signing on a phone looks like.
Most people now open their email on a phone first. A document that signs easily on a small screen comes back faster. SignAndGo signing works in the phone's browser, with nothing to install, so the job on your side is preparing documents that read well when held in one hand.
What the signer sees
The signer receives an email with your message and a button. Tapping it opens the document in their browser. Each field they need to fill in is marked on the page, and the next one is a tap away. They add their signature, complete any other fields, and finish. A copy of the completed document arrives by email when everyone has signed.
If you have switched on document summaries, they can read a plain-language overview before they sign, which helps on a long document read on a bus.
Prepare documents for a small screen
A PDF built for A4 paper is fine on a phone, as long as the text is not tiny. Before sending a new template widely, open it on your own phone and work through every field once. Avoid scanning a printed page at low quality, because the signer will have to zoom to read it. Upload the original Word document or a clean PDF export instead.
- Use a normal font size; signers zoom less.
- Leave space around fields so they are easy to tap.
- Split a very long pack into separate documents in one envelope.
- Keep your email message short and say what the document is.
Helping someone who is stuck
Most problems are the email itself. Ask the person to check their junk or promotions folder, and confirm the address you used. If they opened the link but cannot see a field, ask them to scroll, as the envelope marks every field they need.
If they have a question about the content, they can decline with a reason instead of guessing, and you can answer and send again.
Phones and the rest of the workflow
Phone signing works with everything else: signers in order or all at once, approvers, review-only documents, reminders and the audit trail. The record is the same whichever device the person used.
It also suits people who rarely sit at a desk: shearers between runs, nurses at the end of a shift, crew on a fishing boat back in port. Sending to the phone they already carry is usually faster than waiting for them to reach a computer.
